Virotech is a German based company that is active in the area of research, development and manufacturing of Diagnostic Reagents. Since its foundation in 1986. Genzyme Virotech has developed in-house a wide range of  ELISA, Western Blot, and Line Immuno antibody detection assays and introduced these to laboratories across the globe. In April 1993 GENZYME VIROTECH became part of Genzyme Corp (Boston, MA).

On February 1st, 2001,Genzyme Virotech GmbH was one part of the Genzyme Diagnostics Group being sold to the Japanese company Sekisui Chemical and belongs since that date to Sekisui Chemical Group under the name of Sekisui Virotech GmbH.

The Virotech System ELISAs deliver qualitative, semiquantitative and quantitative results for important parameters of the Infectious Diseases Serology. They are intended for the diagnostic of specific IgG-, IgM and IgA-antibodies in human serum.
